Don’t accept an award if you don’t want to, but it’s a bit of a bore to get up there and have a tizzy fit about immigration, the reviews of LITTLE FOCKERS, bad career choices not eliciting interest from anyone (STANLEY & IRIS? YIKES!)

I thought that DiNero was just trying to be funny.

yeah, give de Niro a tiny break. I think he was doing his best to be kind of lighthearted and funny kind of against his reputation as a stoic recluse. And the reference to his lesser films was clearly making fun of himself I thought. There were quite a few bizarre and ramble-y speeches last night though.

RDJ is still charming in his narcissitic way, even though he’s only doing summer blockbusters at this point in his career. Considering where he was in his life, I’d rather him stick to these.

At least he’s not as bad as Harrison Ford. It seems like he has been on crack in the last few interviews i’ve seen.

By accepting it, the recipient is a de facto prostater (probably not a word). Regardless, he seemed ticked off that things like JACKNIFE & STANLEY & IRIS were not included in a montage and that the HFP panned LITTLE FOCKERS…which, frankly, was just stupid of him to even acknowledge.

I’d have less beef with his behavior if he’d just gone up there & told the HFP to shove the award up it’s collective ass.

I dont understand how anyone can be remotely offended by the Globes

All of them deserve a bit of kidding (at least) and nothing that was said was any worse than what is said on Letterman or Leno nearly every night

The question is who will host next will it be a safe choice or someone like Kathy Griffin (judging by Ricky’s popularity maybe they wont go safe)

I think Ford’s been stoned solid for about a decade. I think Deniro tried to be funny and light-hearted using a pretty poor speech written probably by hired-hands and which he appeared to have not even practiced before going up to podium. If he hadn’t stumbled and lagged so frequently, the speech could have been salvaged, but as it was….poop. Didn’t feel brat-attacked, just embarrassed for someone who had been alerted well in advance that he would DEFINITELY be giving a speech (unlike the regular recipients).

But then again, the Globes tend to be about awkwardness, no?
