i’m a huge fan of his earlier movies and writing (anyone here read “side effects” or “without feathers”?), but honestly his newer stuff isn’t really that interesting to me. i havent even bothered to see the last couple he’s done, there’s just something really bland about them. his last good movie was probably “shadows and fog”, which i loved, but that was based on stuff he wrote in the 70’s. “sweet and lowdown” was ok too i guess, but still nothing comparable to his best work. my personal favorite is “love and death”, which i know is available to download for free online via bittorrent.
I love almost all his movies. But My favorite is “Alice”
I’ve read Without Feathers….it’s a masterpiece of insight and humor

Without Feathers is pure genius. But Match Point is so bad it makes me want to cry. Please, someone explain to me why you like this film?!?!?! (Fancying Scarlett Johansson is not a valid reason.) Isn’t it just a sub-standard rehash of Crimes and Misdemeanours?
It’s hard to choose my favourite film.. Annie Hall, Manhattan, Love and Death… Bananas wins the award for the catchiest theme tune, that’s for sure.

I’ve always felt like I have a freakish amount in common with Annie Hall and so I feel at home watching that film. :)

My favorite is sweet and lowdown. I thought Penn’s performance was hilarious and Samantha Morton was a hoot. The movie at times doesnt seem to know were it wants to go, but nonetheless it still has some of Allen’s best jokes. When Penn goes through the roof i die laughing almost everytime.
