your interpretation

Although it is true that Karina appeared to betray Belmondo throughout the course of the film, it was clear that there was a mutual attraction between the two of them. The film was Godard’s way of publicly denigrating Karina, due to his perception of how he treated him, but to say that Belmondo’s character meant nothing to Karina’s seems an exaggeration. Yes, she betrayed him and his trust and was dishonest, but she may have also been an unstable indecisive woman in her own right. My point being that in spite of the sequence of the events that occurred throughout the film, it was clear that Karina was attracted to Belmondo on some level in spite of what others have said about the film. Then again, this is clearly my interpretation.
