Ordered:
Gold Rush BD
Summer With Monika BD
Summer Interlude BD
Received:
Being John Malkovich BD
La Haine BD
Finally picked up La Grande Illusion, never seen it. Shocking, I know.
Dead Ringers, found a good price and it is in perfect shape. Greatly enjoy the commentaries, but agree the audio for the film is pretty poor.
Got a $50 gift card from my college for me placing honorable mention in the department’s best senior thesis prize. Spent it on getting Le Samourai and Army of Shadows (seen both already). The thesis was on The Battle of Algiers and yes, the Criterion box set was most helpful in so many ways.
Belle De Jour and the Chris Marker films on blu ray.
Letter Never Sent, Orpheus and Kiss Me Deadly.
For a film collector, is there any greater thrill than acquiring three or more Criterion titles all on the same day, opening up the packages and diving into the booklets as a prelude to watching the films?
Hell, getting even one new title makes mah heart go all pitty-pat. LOL.
I try to buy at least two Criterions a month, but even at that slow pace I still accumulate more films than I have time to watch.
La Haine and Pale Flower
I just purchased Modern Times and The Red Shoes (both Blu Ray) for less than $20 on Amazon.
High and Low (blu)
Monsieur Arkadin
Dillinger is Dead.
And it’s one of their best Dvd’s that I’ve come across.
