Spot on and rant all you want. Yes i too found Pitt's performance just completely off base. Amazing how in this day and age people actually laughed and applauded when people are being massacred for the sake of juts being massacred. Yes, yes they are nazi's but i mean Spielberg who has always made his dislike for them very evident always humanized them in a way that you almost sympathize for how they had lost their humanity. All in all no one doubts QT's talent for being a visual master, but he clearly is not in the same league as say an Oliver Stone who is always looking to challenge the mind and question the world that we live in. Here's hoping Tarantino abandons his comic book approach and tackles films on a realistic level, we all know you can play now show us how deep your well really is!
Although i am big fan of Tarantino i completely agree with your review. Although i am reserving my full review until i watch it again i was pretty horrified at the violence in the film. One other thing that has started to bother me about QT is that all his films look the same, the same ole chapters and the same ol gimmicks. Filmmakers are suppose to evolve from film to film, he seems to always fall back to the same style. Disappointed!
Hi Andrew, I studied in Exeter for a while, alas it was at The University of Plymouth back when their practical film studies were based in Exeter, as opposed to the apocalyptic wasteland that is the eponymous location of their name. Exeter was great though.
Good call on Speed Racer, although not a great film i saw it on Blu-Ray and my eyes were mesmerized!
