The power of this film has not been dulled, despite 80 years and countless parodies and imitations.
A sometimes awkward marriage of Star Trek and 2001. Despite it's flaws, I've always enjoyed it for it's epic visuals and Jerry Goldsmith score. The "Director's Edition" is a big improvement.
Awesome. Beautiful. Seeing it once is not enough. Watch it on the biggest screen you can find.
Let's be honest, the original Tron didn't have a stellar script either. It's all about breathtaking visuals, cool action scenes, and a great score by Daft Punk...and that's fine by me.
I'm not a fan of BULLITT, but I bought the blu-ray just to own this great documentary.
One of Coppola's most underrated films. The dream-like visuals are great.
"It must be weird not having people cum on you." Ingmar Bergman wished he could've wrote such witty dialogue.
I don't care what the elitist film snobs say, this is a great film. It's a visual tour-de-force of another world brought to life with amazing detail and believability. The message may seem unoriginal and corny, but it's still a valid one: we're slowly killing the Earth, and we need to do more about it.
The moment the film starts, you are bombarded with information, making it one of the fastest 3-hour movies ever made. An absolute tour-de-force of camerwork, editing, and acting. Goodfellas may get more attention, but Casino is much more intoxicating and epic...and as time goes by, more people are starting to realize that.
Everything about this movie is perfect...from the stellar cast and often funny script to the stunning photography by Caleb Deschanel.
HARDCORE needs to be on here. Great movie, very underappreciated.
He didn't direct "Jesse James."
The new blu-ray is a must-own, the 65mm visuals are stunning. I enjoyed the added footage in the extended cut, but I still prefer the theatrical cut and I wish that it was included via seamless branching. I know other fans may disagree, but I think the shorter version flows better and has a more dreamlike quality.
3 1/2 stars out of 5?! How can people rate this when it hasn't come out yet? That 16 mins of footage doesn't count.
When it comes to capturing the beauty and awe of space travel, 2 films come to mind: 2001 and FOR ALL MANKIND. One film is science fiction, the other is science fact. The new blu-ray of FOR ALL MANKIND is well worth the upgrade.
Great movie, Richard Pryor's best performance. The DVD is out of print, sadly.
