I wish I could tell you Mark :( My viewings have been so lazy this year! I hardly got out to see any of the films I anticipated and my viewings of anything outside the states is always really delayed. I enjoyed Francis Ha and thats probably the only film I saw that I'd rank with my faves, and I likedThe Bling Ring and Pacific Rim quite a bit. Spring Breakers, Upstream Color, Before Midnight and Lords of Salem were the ones I was excited for but school got in the way of all those. Honestly without sounding like a hipster dick a lot of the films people have been raving about..... I just can't get excited for ie Gravity and 12 Years a Slave. I had fun with VHS 2 which a lot of people skipped because the first one sucks but there's one segment that's dynamite that might interest you. Oh I started Only God Forgives but that movie is a pile of shit (and I actually really like Drive), I texted my buddy Jake, who's on mubi, telling him '"'m five minutes in and its not doing it for me" he responded "it doesn't get any better". I used to try to see all the best picture noms just for the sake of argument but last year was the first year I turned the Oscars off so that might be it for that tradition but I'll keep you updated as I try to cram all the essentials from this year into the next two months.
and that score huh? (about 'the wrong man' - almost a cinéma vérité doc huh?). tell me ALL about it ;P
Was that your first time seeing Bigger Than Life?
Thanks for following man. Besides Drug War, what are some of your favorites from Johnnie To? Can't wait to see Blind Detective which you also love.
