About Me

Artist and journalist growing up (college scholarships in each), BFA in Painting & Drawing from U of GA. Was educated on film by my grandmother, who was born in the 1880’s and saw the entire industry develop. Assisted a couple of experimental filmmakers on their projects, or became their first outside eyes viewing edited footage (they say I have a natural and unbiased ‘eye’). Exhibited my own artwork in eight museums. After engineering software and databases in California for 25 years, have semi-retired in the west Georgia mountains to devote my time to reading, art, film, composing, blogging. I currently have over 20 active blogs (starting with one for my artwork, my only gift to the world), including two for films – one is short reviews of only good films, one is lists of award winners, critics polls, internet surveys, and my own compendium of all surveys; and another one for photos of film goddesses, and a few gods as well.

This is cinematic art at its finest. The visuals tell the story, not the dialogue. Thoroughly gripping from beginning to end. Probably too subtle for the avg filmgoer, that’s merely one characteristic…  read review
