SALAAM BOMBAY! (Mira Nair’s first)
A WEDNESDAY (Taut, terrorist suspense film)
HEAT and DUST (James Ivory directed, written by Indian author Ruth Jvabvala, so its sorta Indian)
and for fun: BRIDE and PREJUDICE (musical take on Austen’s Pride and Prejudice)
Jean Renoir’s THE RIVER should have been better – maybe had he been born there.. like Ben Kingsley!
I’ve yet to see APU TRILOGY, since it’s not available on DVD..
