Read my extensive review of this underrated proto-giallo gothic chiller. http://worldweirdcinema.blogspot.com/2010/05/third-eye-italy-1966.html?zx=28271a5560b7f16

Although long reported as an HK film, WITCH WITH FLYING HEAD is actually a Taiwanese production. Either way, it's an incredible movie. A subtitled copy has recently been uncovered, hopefully I'll have a copy soon!

INNOCENCE DESTROYED BY A NAZI FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER! BLOODTHIRSTY LAPPLANDERS OUT FOR REVENGE!! An unbelievable near-masterpiece of total trash that needs to be seen by almost everyone.

Kuwait Connection

One of the great undiscovered movies in international psychotronic cinema. Like a 70s crime film with heavy doses of Jess Franco-esque psychedelia and Godardian agitprop. A fair amount of nudity too, a true rarity in Middle Eastern cinema (excepting 70s Turkish films of course). SEEK IT OUT!

This film has the power to change lives and/or destroy brain cells. Either way, it demands to be a part of your cinematic life!

International Guerillas

The best film you've never seen. A transgressive masterpiece currently available on DVD from the great Mondo Macabro.

THE PHANTOM LOVER should be here. Just watched it, despite some cheesy music, it's quite lovely.

Has anyone, other than Steven Thrower, actually seen this movie? Or maybe even have a copy?

Still not the right film pictured above. MUBI, please fix.

Franco Prosperi

The Franco Prosperi of MONDO CANE and AFRICA ADDIO is not the same Franco Prosperi of DEVIL HUNTER and GIRL WHO KNEW TOO MUCH. Two different dudes with the same name working in the same film industry around the same time ... confusing, yes I know.

In response to Apocalypse Salem's comment: Code Red are not lying bastards. The business of releasing obscure old exploitation movies on digital disc is one fraught with peril. Lisencing the films, finding the correct materials, coming up with relevant extras, dealing with AWFUL sales, etc are just some of the pitfalls involved in this mostly thankless occupation. And actually I believe Code Red are no longer planning on publishing this one. Their sister label Scorpion have this on the slate. But I think there might be rights issues delaying the release.

Wong Kar-wai

Just recently becoming reacquainted with his work after not watching any of his films for like 15 years. Faves in order: ASHES OF TIME, CHUNGKING EXPRESS, FALLEN ANGELS, IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, HAPPY TOGETHER and AS TEARS GO BY. Haven't seen DAYS OF BEING WILD since the mid-90s and I've never seen 2046. I will have to be talked into seeing his English language film MY BLUEBERRY NIGHTS.

José Ramón Larraz

Other great films by Larraz: WHIRLPOOL, DEVIATION, SCREAM ... AND DIE!, SYMPTOMS and THE COMING OF SIN. BLACK CANDLES and STIGMA are not very good but are cheesy and sleazy enough to be recommended to the faithful

I believe this is actually the version directed by Nobuo Nakagawa not Nobuo Koyama.
