The Girlfriend Experience

Not to knock Soderbergh who is a fine director but a small note in his bio is wrong - Louis Malle was the youngest ever winner of the Palme d'Or in 1956 at the age of 24 (shared with Jacques-Yves Cousteau). As an interesting aside - I believe Kurosawa was the eldest at 71 (in 1980 for Kagemusha) beating Imamura by only 1 year (when Imamura won in 1997 for Unagi).

Awesome Welles! It's Steve here. Trying to drum up a few new entries. Do you think it's worth seeking short filmmakers on the criterionforum? I've started an account, but for some reason I can't seem to post a new thread on the boards. Well, a few of them will let me post new threads, but not many. Any idea why?

Dude, How's the simple life treating you? I bet you've been watching films 24-7! When did you want me to bring those DVDs to you? I'm always up here on Wednesday and Friday's. Finish about 5.30 - 6. So let me know when's convenient for you. Seen anything good recently?

Respect Homeslice! Well at least you can't be sacked on Friday the 13th now! Pre-empting the bad luck thing, I like the way you operate, dude. Seriously though, are you gonna go travelling? Good on you man, although I imagine it will be hard for you to part with your DVD collection. Are you flogging the whole lot?? Let me know what you've got! ;-) That docu job fell through, mate. Fuckers jipped me. Not happy about it, but I've moved on. Been doing some volunteer work for the London Film Fest which was ok. Seen shitloads of new films (inc The White Ribbon - but I'll meet for drinks!) and met a few cool people. Now I'm doing two days a week at the East End Film Festival - but I'm still looking for work on the side. Had an interview today - hate interviews! What are you thinking of doing for work? Have you applied anywhere yet? More importantly, where are you going travelling?? I presume you'd be up for Japan, if so, I've got a Rough Guide you can have. You know, to prepare etc. Seen anything good lately?
