Lucille: Filmography

was absolutely gorgeous. I already heard Cinematic Orchestra's soundtrack which is one of my favorite albums already and I saw The Man with the Movie Camera in the library. watch it, if you can get a hold of it. (Decasia fans might be interested)

Tropic Thunder

I think Stiller (and Black, Downey Jnr. & co.) have made one of the most self referencial films since Being John Malkovich, not on the same intellectual par, but the fact that they can all take the piss out of themselves is really admirable. I also think that Robert Downey Jnr. was well deserved of an Oscar Nomination! it takes the piss out of the industry and actors, that's it.

Love Is the Devil

One of the scenes that stuck out the most for me, was the scenes in the bar, which were shot through colourless bottles, which almost imitated Bacon's work. & Daniel Craig's nudity in the bath

Love Is the Devil

my favourite Coen Brother's film

O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Tom Waits was very impressive as the Devil (aka Mr. Nick) but that was a given from the start. Lily Cole was beautiful, yet she is unconvincing as an actress. The setting is appropriate but the effects do not ring true of Gilliam, there is too much CGI and digital animation for it to really be a `Gilliam film, from Monty Python animation sketches to Baron Munchausen, there seems to be lack of intricate detail.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

would like to see James Earl Jones as Big Daddy in the play, very atmospheric, similar to "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf?"

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

was so tense the whole time that I watched this film, it was depressingly beautiful, slight nod towards Truffaut's '400 Blows' in the end shot?
