This list always changes, with the exception of Ben-Hur:
1. Ben-Hur
2. The Godfather part I and 2
3. Ghandi
4. The Lord of the Rings trilogy
5. The Sting
6. The Usual Suspects
7. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
8. There Will be Blood
9. The Maltese Falcon
10. Sleuth
I’m new too though I’ve been meaning to join for ages. I finally got around to joining yesterday. I’m 23, live on a tiny island in the Caribbean, and I want to be a writer, I used to really want to be a director, though not sure how much I want to be a filmmaker anymore. I’ll have to go to film school to find out if it’s what I really want to do.
I feel like I’m about to commit heresy, but I have to say The Deer Hunter. It’s a fine film I suppose, but I just hated it. It was dull, I didn’t care about any of the characters, and most of the film is just drunk people dancing at wedding.
All from 2005: Brokeback Mountain, Good Night and Good Luck, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. Three Burials is the only one that I think is nearly equal to There Will be Blood though.
Drew: Ben-Hur is my favorite film and I think it’s a deeply flawed film. The acting is over the top, there are quite a few scenes that are emotionally manipulative, and I didn’t buy the chemistry between Heston and Harareet. I fact, I didn’t really care about the romance in the film. It’s pretty damn cheesy to be honest. Part of the reason I love it though is because of the flaws.
Inception
The Last Station
The Ghost
The Green Zone
Shutter Island
Sherlock Holmes (it’s a Mark Strong thing)
Where the Wild Things Are
Precious
Invictus
The Princess and the Frog
Last movie you saw and rate it almost 3 years ago
The Hangover 7/10
On the Waterfront 6.5/10
The Hurt Locker 6/10
Public Enemies 7/10
Wow. I should probably feel ashamed that I enjoyed The Hangover more than On the Waterfront or The Hurt Locker.

Christine “I nearly fell asleep at a midnight showing of Kingdom of Heaven that I was dragged to by a few friends.”
Guess I’m not the only one. I actually fell asleep during Kingdom of Heaven.

How many films would you define as "perfect"? almost 3 years ago
I’ve never seen a perfect film. Every film I’ve seen is flawed. Grand Hotel is the closest I’ve seen, but it isn’t even my favorite movie.
