POLARISDIB, it really helps to enjoy the film if you’re a fan of Hunter S. Thompson like I am, but I also know people who don’t know who he is that loved the film.
LAW, Schizopolis is a very bizarre and funny film. However it requires a very bizarre sense of humor, and I mean VERY bizarre. Steven Soderbergh gives a really good performance and it was hard to believe he hadn’t acted before, and it’s on the Criterion Collection. So there are three reasons right there. Also what made you think Traffic was medioce?

They thought the acting sucked? Johnny Depp excelled at playing Hunter S. Thompson. You’re a smart guy POLARISDIB, you knew the acting was good.

Yeah, the movie is about two guys on an acid trip so it’s bound to have some crazy stuff in it.

JUSTIN VICARI, I know Gilliam’s characters are wacky but I think they go well in dramatic situations. Look at Robin Williams in the Fisher King

Yeah the energy got pretty overwhelming sometimes. Especially the adrenechrome seen when Benicio Del Toro turns into that devil thing.
