Thanks for the follow back Alan. Thanks for the tip on Unseable as well If I end up really liking Citizen Dog I'll dig it out. There's a great seller on ioffer that has a quite eclectic incredible selection of mainly japanese film but Thai and Iranian as well. If you do contact the seller ask him for his extended list of directors and films it's quite outstanding. Well anyway have a good weekend.. Out in Brazil! Just out of curiosity are you a cinema Novo fan. Rocha for me is one of the greats.. Later man.
You're welcome brother! Unseable is an ok movie, but when it comes to Thai cinema i would say that anything made by Ratanaruang and Apichatpong is definetely worth a watch. I don't buy dvds anymore, only blu-rays but thanks for the tip about the seller anyway. I'm not a fan of cinema novo mainly because i nerver watched anything of that period, instead i would say that i prefer some new guys like José Padilha, Jorge Furtado and Karim Ainouz. See ya.
Thanks for the tipI ll check them out. Big fan of Apichatpong and need to get into Ratanaruang but for me Hou Hsiao Hsien, Tsai Ming Liang, and Edward Yang take the price. What other recent cinema heavyweights do you like? I'm loving Jia Zhangke, and Eugene Green right know.
I'm a huge fan of Tsai! The man is a GENIUS. Ratanaruang is amazing too. Other than those two, i really like the work of guys like Brillante Mendoza (philippines) , Hirokazu Kore-eda (japan) and Lee Chang-dong (korea). Check my lists to see my favorite films of each one of them.
