What about the Nikkatsu film Fujiwara Yoshie no furusato (hometown) made in 1930?
I'm very proud and torn about Kiarostami's choice to make his next film, The End, (an extension of certified copy) in Japan.
It's not often that I cry during a film, but this one did it for me, even in it's incomplete 90-minute obtrusive cut.

There is a slight error in the synopsis: it's shouldn't be Hideko Takamine, but, rather, it should be Mieko Takamine (a famous singer from the 40s).
I noticed the rather static camera subtly converged by a brief tremor, oh, wait, that was the earthquake.
I've been wanting to see more of her works, particularly the aforementioned film.
I've tried to submit Gô-hime (1992) several times, but to no avail... If anyone could boldly carry out that task, that I so miserably failed, I think we would all be eternally grateful.
