Cloud Atlas

Promises a lot, but ultimately fails to deliver in almost all fronts. Amidst 6 storylines only one (revolving around the composer Robert Frobisher) has consistency and a fitting ending. All others derail into senseless action sequences and cheap new agey philosophy. Its certainly an ambitious film, but overly so. Nevertheless the editing is superb and manages to guide us smoothly through such a tangled script.

I agree about Drive. Over-the-top violence can be fun, but the way the film handles it is more groan inducing. I hate the slow-mo and I hate how Driver is practically Superman. There's no humanity/real personality in his character whatsoever. In all honesty, I kind of find Drive to be the masculine equivalent of Twilight!

Em Blu-Ray região 1 em casa de um amigo. Já saiu em BD nos EUA. Por cá nem nos cinemas saiu... Se isso acontecer ainda vou revê-lo (ou será vê-lo) ao cinema.

No dia 27 de Junho sai em Blu-Ray no Reino Unido. Vale a pena comprar porque o filme é extraordinário. Pena que não o tenha podido ver no cinema...

Não. O "Drive" não me convenceu de todo. E tive pena, porque a sequência inicial prometia imenso. Infelizmente achei o argumento tão paupérrimo e as personagens tão unidimensionais que nem o virtuosismo da realização chegou para me fazer gostar do filme.
