I don't know how the film hasn't gathered a larger following, I've yet to watch that and Branded to Kill back to back which I think would be illuminating. Have you read Jonathan Rosenbaum's write up of it? http://www.jonathanrosenbaum.com/?p=6116

That's an excellent write up. I saw it at a young age and it rattled my mind then as much as it does now. Its an example of a film I use when naysayers exclaim that "art can't be fun".
