Well you need to look into this man: http://mubi.com/cast_members/1191 And this list: http://mubi.com/lists/212 Fassbinder is probably my favorite queer filmmaker, his films are personal and political at the same time and he had such an eye for stories about people existing on the fringes of society. His greatest work is probably the 15 1/2 hour Berlin Alexanderplatz, but I'd start with his BRD Trilogy or Ali: Fear Eats the Soul. That list has some interesting choices. The most immediate I can recommend are Johnny Guitar, The Tenant, W.R.: Mysteries of the Organism, Persona, Mulholland Drive, and Psycho.
