Well I think Amelie is a bit cheesy but nonetheless a great film!

Thanks, I got later criticized for hijacking the thread with a cute picture though. :) One of the previous posters even got moderated for stating that "Avatar" isn't worthwhile discussing. I heard that Cameron stated the film is an allegory on colonialization, so maybe racism can be found in colonialization itself rather than the film being racist. But I wouldn't know since I haven't actually watched it and most likely never will, I just can't stand GI animated films.

You know, this star system is hard. I understand that Amelie is a well-made, well-crafted film. I just didn't like it; it's a little too cute for my tastes.
