Thanks for the suggestions! Of the films I’ve watched recently, I liked Chungking Express most, and Alphaville made me scratch my head in a way that makes me want more.
Clerks. Yes, really. At 15, the characters seemed to understand my mindset better than most of my friends. Also, the first independent film I went out of my way to see.
Just watched this. Creepy as hell, glad I saw it. Read the Wikipedia entry on the last chapter of the book. It would change the story from creepy to just plain crazy, I think.
I didn’t think it was terrible, but I don’t understand its becoming a “cult favorite.” To me, it didn’t warrant much more than a “that was kinda neat.”

Hi there. I am new to the site, and I love it. I cannot claim to be a film expert, but I’m slowly trying to change that.
So far, I’ve been trying to watch the Criterion Collection(in chronological order). Watched The Long Good Friday today.
Is this as good an idea as I think it is, or am I setting myself up to watch the films in a less-than-ideal order?

Josh-Pretty much everything. :) The shifts from noir, to sci-fi, to meditation on the death of the soul, mainly lol

Is To Each His Own Cinema any good? Or is enough of it good to give it a watch? That’s an omnibus film, right?
