New Guy almost 3 years ago

Hi there. I am new to the site, and I love it. I cannot claim to be a film expert, but I’m slowly trying to change that.

So far, I’ve been trying to watch the Criterion Collection(in chronological order). Watched The Long Good Friday today.

Is this as good an idea as I think it is, or am I setting myself up to watch the films in a less-than-ideal order?

Thanks for the suggestions! Of the films I’ve watched recently, I liked Chungking Express most, and Alphaville made me scratch my head in a way that makes me want more.

George Washington was a recent favorite, as well.

Which film has changed your life forever? almost 3 years ago

Clerks. Yes, really. At 15, the characters seemed to understand my mindset better than most of my friends. Also, the first independent film I went out of my way to see.

One of the Scariest Movies I Know! almost 3 years ago

Just watched this. Creepy as hell, glad I saw it. Read the Wikipedia entry on the last chapter of the book. It would change the story from creepy to just plain crazy, I think.

does any one else think donnie darko is terrible? over 2 years ago

I didn’t think it was terrible, but I don’t understand its becoming a “cult favorite.” To me, it didn’t warrant much more than a “that was kinda neat.”

Omnibus Films That Work over 2 years ago

Is To Each His Own Cinema any good? Or is enough of it good to give it a watch? That’s an omnibus film, right?
