“The life of a writer can be filled with sadness, it can also be filled with happiness, filled with surprises, filled with legends and myths…
filled with miracles and odysseys. Everything I have written in my life, all those resources I depended on, all those years spent reading and studying, they never prepared me for what my life was in the last few months.
What I am about to tell you is not a story, it happened to me, Nicolás Tamayo, renowned Mexican writer. And to my best friend, Santiago Covarrubias. Till this day I still have no explanations nor answers.
I have never returned to that God forsaken town, and may God keep me in his glory the day I do.
Because like Junipero Vela said one day: “Here, here in El Real Mr. Tamayo…here the dead walk.”
These are the opening lines of my upcoming Screenplay, El Real. A tribute to my favorite author Juan Rulfo.
I live in Chicago and I am professional writer.
