The Brown Bunny

felt contemplative and sad at times, but also sometimes monotonous and "directionless" in a way to which i felt aversion. i sometimes enjoy directionless-ness in films, but this didn't "strike me" emotionally very much. i enjoyed the last scene in the film (after the blowjob).

yeah, i watched it last night. i liked it a lot more by the end than when i first started watching it. the introduction of a supernatural/surreal aspect made it much more enjoyable for me. i really liked the hallucinations (?) of the people's souls (?) on the ceiling in several scenes. i liked the ending a lot too.

Persona and Wild Strawberries are probably my two favorite Bergman films! Let me know what you think after you watch them.

definitely. aleksey told me that he really liked "wild strawberries" and i read some things about bergman. i really want to watch both of these now.

I actually "had" to watch a lot of his films when I was studying swedish at college. I didn't really like many at first. I guess it was more of an acquired taste in the beginning.

Don't watch Fanny and Alexander unless you want to fall asleep.
