Ruth graduated in Communication at the Complutense University of Madrid in 1998. Followed with Ph. D. Courses in Film and European Studies at European University of Madrid.
She has directed and produced several documentaries and short films. Has been working and attending courses in the audio-visual field from 98 untill present day on directing, producing, editing, and directing actors. She has studied with documentary directors like Dick Fontaine, Marc Isaacs, Chilean filmmaker Patricio Guzman, Michael Rabiger, Javier Corcuera and Jose Luis Guerin.
She also worked in publicity, TV and Corporate Video for the last 7 years. Whilst in London she started her production company Horns and Tails and worked for Spanish TVE and Canal+ as a correspondent. Besides her own work, she has work as a videographer for two anthropological documentaries.
Her last feature length documentary 200Km (she codirected and coproduced) was premiered in San Sebastian Film Festival in 2005 to the claim of public and critic.
The film has been distributed theatrically and has made an excellent Festivals run.
200Km was awarded Best Screenplay at The Golden Gate Fiction and Documentary Festival, in San Francisco (2005).
Her feature documentary Till You´re Told To Stop about singer song-writer James Blunt, and his journey from being a soldier in Kosovo to being the best selling new artist in UK history; is about to be distributed worldwide.
Ruth is currently living in New York, directing music videos, writing a feature script and producing 2 new documentaries.
