Hi, I’m Jake. I’m just a student in at a college (Auburn University) with little in the way of cinematic appreciation who nevertheless loves the movies and loves going to them. I’m a bit of an obsessive-compulsive, which is a problem when you live in a section of the world that does not cater to the cinephile crowd. But I do my best, and hopefully I reduce my vast ignorance a little bit each day.

Admittedly rough around the edges in its need to convey a lot of extraneous narrative, John Carter has nevertheless been unfairly maligned. I honestly can't think of the last time a big-budget adventure film has felt so jubilant and carefree. Maybe the third Indiana Jones movie?Favorite Films
