Kyle Copeland: Filmography

Paths of Glory

Quite an amazing film. It's nice to see a war film that focuses on the experiences of the men rather than the experience of war itself.

Shutter Island

Looked great, liked the style, had some great stuff going for it, but the ending really fell short for me. I guessed that it might take that route during the first flashback of his wife, but when my fears were paid off in the end. I was so disappointed, it did what I hoped it wouldn't. Oh well, I don't feel like I wasted my money, and he's given us films like Goodfella's and Taxi Driver, so I can forgive Marty.

Snatch.

One of the coolest intro's ever. Cowboy Bebop is the only thing I can think of that beats it. So film wise... IT WINS!

District 9

Wish I had seen this in the theater. Holy awesome. The humor is top notch, the gore was incredibly spine tickling, and the action was top notch. Played with your emotion on every level. I'm usually not a fan of movie that are dependent on CG but in this case I'm willing to make an exception. Totally rad. After watching it the first time I immediately re-watched it, which is a first for me. Awesome.

District 9

This is one of the reason's I got into film. This movie is perfect, and will remain one of the greatest cop drama's ever. It's in your face grittiness, the grabs you by the balls and doesn't ever let go! The sequel was even worth watching! How often does that happen?!

Ronin

Great film. The car chase is worth watching alone. De Niro is amazing as Sam, a character whose always been a favorite of mine, and I believe it's Jean Reno's best performance.

Planet Terror

Laughed my ass off. Everytime i hear someone doesnt like it i just think why? It's hilarious, the ida of making a movie crappy, and campy on purpose... Amazing.

Planet Terror

The moment they realize Poitier's character is a "highly paid" City Police Detective has always put a smile on my face. Great, powerful movie.

My favorite Newman/Redford duo. Even more so than Butch and Sundance.

Apocalypse Now

Possibly the greatest film ever. Hands down.

Apocalypse Now

"Magnificent."

Where the Wild Things Are

Amazing.

Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters

I remember seeing this as a kid during a Hitchcock marathon back when AMC was awesome and still played CLASSICS and was commercial free (thank god for Turner Classic Movies) but anyway I loved this so much! I remember thinking then "Hitchcock did this?! haha hilarious story. Love it.

The Trouble with Harry

Dissapointing. And I really hate how they glorified the Senator. I'm not talking about his social life, no problem with a man, being a man. His politics were ridiculous, sure he felt like he was helping out some afghans... But look how they ended up. Total biased one sided BS.

Filming 'Othello'

Very cool, gives you a little insight into his madness.

Bullitt

The chase between the fastback and the Charger RT through the streets of San Francisco makes this worth seeing this alone.

Cool Hand Luke

Easily in my top five favorite's of all time. So good. So so so good. I could go on and on but I dont feel the need. If you haven't seen this you should go back under the rock you crawled from under and just stay there... Or watch it cause its so damn good!

Gomorrah

Gomorrah takes all the glamour and romanticism out of the mafia. It's such an intense, eye opening, and powerful film. Every separate story was just as moving, and horrifying as the other. Besides City of God, I havent felt so low, yet informed after watching a film. It was definitely my favorite film of 2008, and yes, should have won best foreign film at the Academies.
