Vicky Portauger: Filmography

Woyzeck

I wouldn't say the whole movie is a masterpiece but the murder scene is definitely one of a kind ! One of the finest thing I've ever seen

Woyzeck

This is soooo much better than you've got a mail ! This remake is so useless when we have Lubitsch's film ! God he really confirms he is the master of comedy !

The Shop Around the Corner

Nowhere Boy

Definetely not bad but not great enough for its topic !

Nowhere Boy

Disturbing, moving and original...Everything I like in Resnais' work

Je t'aime, je t'aime

One of the best westerns ever (if not the best) even if I'm not fond of the genre

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance

Grease

The script is as stupid as one could imagine but the musical part is great and this movie is so... vintage ! ^^

Air Doll

Well, the beginning was very good, the idea and the message that the movie conveys was interesting and poetic but my gosh the end was way too long and too bad ! It gave me the impression the movie was too short and that Kore-Eda had to fill the last minutes with...nothing ! Very disappointing in the end...that's a pity, I was very enthousiastic first...

La femme Nikita

Uh...Boring ? Not that bad but kinda boring and that's a shame for a movie which is nothing esle that entertainement !

La femme Nikita

The beginning is absolutely wonderful...But I figured out wenders has big difficulties to end his movies, it is most of the time a bit disappointing and it make the movie not as wonderful as the beginning let think !

Shutter Island

The scenario is absolutely brilliant but unfortunately the film is bitterly disappointing :( The beginning is good but then, the movie gets lost in a classical script of the genre, it gets easely boring if you 're not crazy about this type of films. Strange experience : in the one hand, I can see the genius of it and on the other hand, I don't think it is a very good movie.

The State of Things

When I began to watch it, I thought it would be a deception because veen though it was good, it didn't seem very special but the end definitely makes it a wonderful work of art !

Sherlock Holmes

To create a "new" Sherlock Holmes was a good idea but finally the movie gets caught in a stupid story seen before and dialogues are just ridiculous. You ask yourself if it could be on purpose and when you realize it is not, you just want to get out of the movie theater. Not as bad as I expected though ! (it is not hard because I really expected it too be horribly bad !)

Vincere

I like the modern elements...you can see it very often in historical movies !

Vincere

Brian De Palma

Watch Dionysus in '69...It is very suprising even if not "cinematographically speaking" very good

Wild Grass

Wonderful...Who said Resnais was getting too old ? He's the youngest old man I've ever watched a movie of. The colours, the dialogues and those foolish surrealistic situations characters find themselves in are just magic !

Wild Grass

Well, it is very naive and childish in some ways (a bit like Disney pictures...) but it is good indeed !

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Alphaville

This is a wonderful movie, full of poetry and philosophy...and the original in its way of being pictured : Thanks God (ard)

Alphaville

I liked the idea, i liked John Malkovich's interpretation and...that's it...Pretty bad otherwise :(

Being John Malkovich

Volver

The only Almodovar I liked I guess...

District 9

I couldn't have said it better Daniella !

District 9

Classic but very good indeed

The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes

Elia Suleiman

The Times That Remains is a masterpiece. I'm sorry i didn't see anything else for the director...

I don't think it is pretencious...this feeling is not really part of resnais's state of mind if you read some interviews. It is just different and though people reject it saying it is intellectual cinema...but maybe it is not... Think about it...
