Hey I see you're a fan of Edgardo Cozarinsky, have you ever seen the movie Les apprentis sorciers?? (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075691/_ I've been looking for it for what feels like forever, I haven't even come across someone who has seen it.
No, i havn't seen it either. i have only seen two of Cozarinsky's films so far....One Man's War was simply brilliant. sadly his films are hard to find with subtitles :( i'm dying to see more from him, especially the cocteau film and short memory, his collaboration with eduardo gregorio...but, nice to meet you :)
shit you've seen L'Amour Fou. I'm stalking that film for a decade. darn. film print or dvd?
oh man....it was devastating...a totally once in a lifetime experience....it had the same kind of impact as say, eustache's mother and the whore. but film print or dvd - neither. where i live L'amour fou is not going to be shown in print in the next 50 years :( i got it from one of those blessed internet sources, the copy was not ideal but eminently watchable, considering it's worth chasing for 10 years:) // but, moving on from l'amour fou, i just finished watching the 12 hour mammoth version of Out 1, and ....oh god, what can i say! but isn't that supposed to be the ultimate holy grail of the nouvelle vague? and, i gather you've already seen it. did you see it in print? in one of those rare, almost legendary screenings? in that case - I'm jealous :)
I envy you for having seen the film tho. Although I'm still waiting to see it up on the big screen. Hence the wait. Yes I know the lack of availability is an open invitation to torrents and whatnot. I just prefer to see it on film. I waited 11 years for Éloge de l'amour you know? I saw La Mamain et la Putain but it did not strike me as much of the rest of Eustache's work, there's such a thing as too many films. I thought I already had seen that. I dunno. It was very good though. I actually counted the hours and was more like 15 and a half. Was your version shorter? And yes i saw it up on the big screen. Film print. 2 days marathon with several screenings per day. It was once in a lifetime thing. Only 6 people in the screening room (the capacity is 75). Yes i think so. When I saw it i actually did not know a whole lot about it. I'm more a fan of the films. I should read more about it, though. And yes and I had not any subtitles. True I'm fluent in French but the sound was not epic. After all the print was 40 years old (it´s slightly ironic that some of the copies from the 70s and 80's are in actual worst shape than the prints from the silent era, you know?). Aw you're nice.
Thank you for the follow Mr Kaizer. My comings and goings here are rather erratic, so I often forget to thank people :(
This dazzling debut feature from the Kazakh director throbs with a restless, existentialist energy. Through his complex, often symbolic mesh of imagery, Omirbayev captures a twilight zone between sleep… read review
