About Me

“Our battle, our struggle, is to create art. Our weapon is the moving picture. Because we have the moving picture, our paintings will grow and recede; our poetry will be shadows that lengthen and conceal; our light will play across living faces that laugh and agonize; and our music will linger and finally overwhelm, because it will have a context as certain as the grave. We are scientists engaged in the creation of memory… but our memory will neither blur nor fade.” – Shadow of the Vampire (2000)

I love movies, all movies, and am always open to suggestions. :)

John Barrymore said that this was his favorite of all the films he'd made and you can see why. This film is an absolute gem with Barrymore hamming it up as the great Oscar Jaffe and Carole Lombard giving one of her best performances as Lily Garland, the lingere model turned actress. This film is a definite must see.

I love that quote from "Shadow of the Vampire". Do you have any idea if Murnau actually said that or if it was created for the movie?
