Dodo Dayao always wanted to be a basketball star. Instead he writes, films, paints and curates. He was one of the programmers of .MOV and also one of the editors and writers of Philippine New Wave:This Is Not A Film Movement. He has made a number of short films and video installations including Zero (2010), Memories of Places I’ve Never Been (2010) and Entropy Machine (2011). I heard about that. And I attest. A chef after my own vegetarian heart. Lav's ensaladang talong is vicious, in a good way of course. (He can whip up a mean cocktail,too, I heard. That I have to try soon.)

It had to come to this eventually … (and to show how down-to-earth he really is) You know Lav Diaz as legendary director, writer, cinematographer, editor, musician and actor, but his latest film credit brought many of us much joy (read: boisterous laughter) during the first screening of the first feature short of his friend, visual artist, production designer, actor Dante Perez (Encantos, Melancholia) at the UFO Sightings Cinema Knights 2 at the Asia Pacific Film Institute, Metro Manila last Saturday, July 31, 2010 … “As the closing credits for Dante Perez’s “House of Love” flashed onscreen, one in particular caused the room to ERUPT into laughter … FOOD/CATERING by Lav Diaz … *grin*
