Twin Peaks to return online? And Lynch-less? over 2 years ago

Pretty sure Lynch was quoted saying somewhere that Twin Peaks was as dead as a doornail. And that’s the way it should stay.
It’s far too brilliant to be tampered with after so long. Half of Twin Peaks’ appeal was it’s obscurity, so I feel it’s fitting that the show should end on a cliffhanger.
It’s just one of those classic things that should never be remade…although look what they’re doing to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. SIGH.

Gay and Lesbian Cinema over 2 years ago

MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO and SHORTBUS are in my opinion, two of the best works of Gay and Lesbian cinema I’ve seen.

Welcome to Female Audiences & Unhealthy Relationships over 2 years ago

HAHAHA. I agree with Law wholeheartedly.

“It seems the movie advances the idea that a relationship based on addiction, and myopic devotion that shuns all other human contact is desired.” – That is very true, Andres. I’ve read this series (albeit, with great difficulty, Meyer is certainly not engaging in the slightest with her whiney narrative), and Bella comes across as contemptuous to all the mortal characters, including her parents. That is, all the characters that don’t offer her a chance to escape her own vapid reality into a fantasy world. I really don’t understand how this unhealthily obsessive desire to cling hopelessly to one person while quite blatantly shunning the rest of the world is popular with audiences. I suppose you are right in your assumption that inexperienced teenage girls wanting nothing more than to fantasize about a world in which they can indulge their passions is the reason behind Twilight’s success.

On a completely unrelated note, has anyone noticed that New Moon is listed as an Australian film on The Auteurs? That’s a bit wrong.
