Sudden Rain

Hi Jake, just wondering where you found most of the Naruse films you've seen. I've managed to find Avalanche and Herringbone Clouds, both of which I loved, but the rest are somewhat elusive. Thanks!

I just bookmarked that yesterday. I'm grabbing it now thanks to your rec. P.S. I still check your blog every once and a while and it has become very helpful to me for all sorts of new movies to watch and sometimes what to avoid.

I'm glad to hear that Jake! I actually haven't seen that Rohmer film, but he is such a wonderful director. You've got quite a lot of favorite filmmakers of the realist camp, so I expect it will be easy to fall in love with his works as you see more. I still think MAUD is amazing. You might want to try PERCEVAL if you want to try a more eccentric work of his. LE RAYON VERT, CLAIRE'S KNEE, and MARQUISE D'O round out my favorites...
