I really was looking forward to this film, but I was more than a little bit disturbed. Katz's film seems to apologize for his misogynistic lead character (Gus), who is revealed to be a rapist, albeit an apologetic one. Gus is supposedly redeemed at the end of the film in Jessica's eyes without expressing any serious remorse or paying any sort of penance. Am I reading this wrong? Anyone have any thoughts?
