Love the four noirs he made, especially Stray Dogs and High and Low. The latter is a masterpiece, imo, and made when he was at the peak of his directorial power.
Watched the first two films thanks to Comcast ONDemand; loved both and look foward to the third being put up to watch. After seeing it, I’ll give my complete opinion; right now can only write that the divergence and differences of the second from the first film makes me respect the young talents of Refn
No; its a good neo-noir with its moments, but I don’t think a movie with its flaws (eg, the scene where a bum legged Nick Cage walks from the top of a roof onto a semi truck via a long piece of wood that just happens to be there) deserves a Criterion Collection dvd.
