Armond White (born 1953) is a New York-based film and music critic. He is known for his provocative and idiosyncratic film criticism, which has often been described as contrarian. He is currently the lead film critic for the alternative weekly New York Press. Other publications that have carried his work include The City Sun, Film Comment, The Nation, The New York Times, Slate, and First Things.
