it's a pretty brutal movie. definitely on the edge of how much violence (and sexual violence) that i can handle. i just barely made it past the head-smashing scene but i'm really glad that i made it through it. i read ebert's review of it after i watched it and it really solidified a lot of things that i thought about it. worth a read: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20030314/REVIEWS/303140303/1023
