I still have trouble finding a film--The Anchorage--and you are the only friend who has rated it, with 3 stars. Do you remember anything from it?

haha oh that movie. there wasnt much of a plot. from what i remember, a couple (young man & woman) went to visit an older lady out in her cabin in the woods where they just kinda hung out. and every morning the older lady would take a dip in the lake by her house. there wasnt much else to the plot. there was just something very soothing about the movie. the fact that this woman lived way out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nothing but nature. its been one of my fantasies to some day put nyc behind me and live out in the middle of nowhere where i can be alone haha

I got to watch Le Havre at the IFC Centre while on holiday. A bit disappointing but I still enjoyed it. I hope it’s not going to be another 5 year wait for Kaurismaki’s next feature. Also went to the Museum of the Moving Image which was great. Thanks for the tip.

I saw that Ken wouldn't call on your question. And considering how awful some of the q's are...(sand? Billy Budd? are those really necessary?)

Aye, drove to NY and back just for this, and during finals week for me too! I wanted to say hi and introduce myself afterwards, but you fled before I got out to the aisle.

The Day of the Locust

Whores, racist midgets, creepy little children, sexually repressed bible thumpers and apocalyptic riots. Hollywood was a pretty odd place according to Nathanael West who’s book, ‘The Day Of The Locust’…  read review

I haven’t been this impressed by a low-budget/no-budget film since John Caouette’s ‘Tarantion’ (another film, like Donoma, made with a budget of $200). But the main differences between the 2 films…  read review
