here’s a review i did…

i also liked how he tried to use the jewish religion as an excuse to justify mindless violence. i mean lets be real, i thought one of the main things about this movie was that the basterds were jewish. the film didnt even get in to that.
theres like 3 different versions of wicker man. the most recent one is a pimped-out special edition. what would be the point of a fourth special edition dvd. GREAT movies without ANY US dvd release should get first dibbs.
persona and hour of the wolf have a dvd release and there are now TWO kubrick boxsets (and a blu-ray). what would be the point of putting them on criterion?
prince of the city woulda been good but its already out on dvd
so many movies you guys are naming already have dvd releases. and some cases, the dvd’s are really good. what about important films that dont have ANY dvd release yet?
oh my, yeah every eclipse ive bought (which is most) has been a blind buy, and i love every one of ‘em. larisa shepitko and kaurismaki’s sets are my 2 favorites
why are people saying herzog or tarrantino movies or fight club, etc etc? those direcotrs or movies either have some kind of box set or a delux edition dvd with special features on par to a lot of criterions. what would be the point of releasing those.
most movie nerds (Like myself) probably already own the herzog box sets (with great audio commentary), the kubrick box set, pulp fiction, etc etc.
AKIRA? if criterion released that, do you realize that would the 3rd or 4th special edition dvd of that movie?
what about great movies with NO dvd release or a cheap/shitty release. those should get first priority. stop naming your personal favorite movies, lol.
whoever said “Safe”, films by peter greenway or ozon’s shorts hit the nail on the head.

sorry, but “the road” was just “ok”
theres been a million different variations of “prescious” done for the last 20 years
district 9 was “eh, ok”
“inglorious bastards” had so many issues i dont even know where to start (christopher waltz’s performance was the only great thing about that movie and a supporting role cant/shouldnt carry an entire movie)
i realize the class, revanche, tokyo sonata and hunger came out last year, but they didnt get to theaters here in the U.S. until early 2009***
