I’m so tired of the cookie-cutter films that Hollywood keeps putting out. I’ll leave the “boy meets girls, stuff happens, they live happily ever after”, “good always triumphs over evil” and the “just think how cool it would be if we remade it with today’s technology” type movies to the mindless herd. It amazes me that the sheeple keep paying money to see remakes and numerous sequels made just to make money. That being said, I’m not a total snob and can be a hypocrite, so there are hundreds of American films that I love. I prefer quirky, smart and different films. And I occasionally go see the big blockbusters just for the “roller coaster ride.”

I really enjoy foreign and independent films. I’m always looking for treasures at public libraries and Netflix has not let me down yet. I really enjoy going to art house theaters. The Bear Tooth Theater Pub in Anchorage, Alaska shows art films on Mondays and I saw some really good films there. I’m in Corvallis, Oregon now and am looking forward to seeing some good films at the Darkside Cinema.
