Depressing brutal, and one of the best of 2009
Worst movie I've seen for a long time. I actually walked out of the theater after William Dafoe's Driving scene
Dull, pointless, and a little pretentious. A good try, but the only good scene (and the only emotion or decent acting) in the whole movie was the last minute or so.
The scene with Walken and Hoffman is one of my favorite scenes. I could watch that all day
This is American filmmaking at it's best and most pure. Huge budget, whiz-bang action and epic storytelling with eye candy that will set the bar for a decade. This is the next Star Wars. 2001 it's not, but one of the best American films of the year it is. If you haven't seen it in 3d, you are missing something amazing.
Self-congratulating, over-hyped, Oscar-grabbing chick flick. The worst film to EVER win "Best Picture".
Danny Boyle: most overrated director ever.
I thought this was a great little film. Any rock lover will enjoy this immensely, and it's good to see a documentary that doesn't try to shove some agenda down your throat. It's just guitar players, passionate about their art, talking and playing. A gem.
This film was a masterpiece. There. I said it. In 20 years, people will see this.
One of the greatest films of all time; basis of the modern crime thriller and huge influence of American Film Noir. Favorite shot of the movie: the notorious low angle shot of Inspector Lohmann- a twist on the 'hero view' masterfully pulled off by Lang
A great, great screenplay.
The more I watch this film the more I think that it may be one of the greatest movies to cater to the parents of the Baby Boomer generation: radical social change, retirement, and aging in a strange environment that seems to have forgotten you. Watch it in this context and blow your mind.
I can't figure out which movie I liked better, this or "Up"
Amazing, amazing directorial debut. McQueen will go far.
Are you kidding? This was easily one of the best movies I've seen for a long time.
I came out of this movie ready to tear it apart and criticize it, but the truth is, I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The screenwriting is excellent, acting is solid, the character interaction is superb; The Hurt Locker is my pick so far for 2009's best picture.
I say, in 20 years, Barton Fink could be known as the Coen's best film.
