I Come With the Rain (Anh Hung Tran) – I do not believe this will be anything less than stunning.
La Frontiere de l’aube (Philippe Garrel)
Salome (Tsai Ming-Liang)
The Age of the Tattoo (Zhang Ke Jia)
Pineapple Express (David Gordon Green)
35 rhums (Claire Denis)
Red Cliff (John Woo)
The Happening (M. Night Shyamalan)
And of course many of the late 2007 holdover’s I’m eagerly salivating to see: Mister Lonely, Red Balloon, Paranoid Park, 4 Months, etc.
I 2nd (or 3rd or 4th) India Song, some others I’d like to see: A City of Sadness, A Time to Live and a Time to Die, Dust in the Wind, My Summer at Grandpa’s, Tokyo.sora, Su-Ki-Da, Zabriskie Point, Lunar Eclipse, The Mother and the Whore, A Brighter Summer Day, Une chambre en ville
Some of my recent Asian favorites (from this decade): The Vertical Ray of the Sun, In the Mood For Love, All About Lily Chou-Chou, Cafe Lumiere, I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone, The Wayward Cloud, 2046, Three Times, The World
I am really dying to see “Still Life”. I’ve enjoyed all of Jia’s films that I have seen and the trailer for it looks incredible…..
I just saw “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days” this weekend at the theater and I have to say its just a completely flawless piece of film making. I highly recommend it.
Completely agree with Contempt’s score being the best. It’s so beautiful and is such a key part of the film. On another note, they showed “Contempt” on TCM last night and the print they showed was full frame, horribly damaged, and dubbed. I was in complete shock when i turned it on and saw that.
Flight of the Navigator (rented it all the time)
Back to the Future (all of them)
The Guyver
Hackers
All of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 80’s and early 90’s films (Bloodsport especially)
More Philippe Garrel (anything really, but “The Inner Scar” especially)
Lucile Hadzihalilovic’s shorts (Good Boys Use Condoms & La Bouche de Jean-Pierre)
Je t’aime, je t’aime (Resnais)
Alain Robbe-Grillet (any and all)
Andrzej Zulawski (any and all)
Il Mistero di Oberwald & Beyond the Clouds (Antonioni)
1. Hiroshima mon amour (Alain Resnais)
2. The Vertical Ray of the Sun (Anh Hung Tran)
3. All the Real Girls (David Gordon Green)
4. Chungking Express (Wong Kar-Wai)
5. Contempt (Jean-Luc Godard)
6. L’Eclisse (Michelangelo Antonioni)
7. The Thin Red Line (Terrence Malick)
8. Zerkalo (Andrei Tarkovsky)
9. All About Lilly Chou-Chou (Shunji Iwai)
10. Pierrot le fou (Jean-Luc Godard)

Teenage girls and violence about 4 years ago
Japanese Pinku films have a lot of females dispatching endless amounts of violence. Some recommendations from what I’ve seen:
Sex and Fury
Lady Snowblood
Delinquent Girl Boss: Worthless to Confess
Terrifying Girls’ High School: Lynch Law Classroom

Which film has changed your life forever? about 4 years ago
The Killer/Hard Boiled – showed me that non-American films can be just as good if not better then Hollywood stuff.
In the Mood For Love – made me fall in love with and care most about art films.
L’Eclisse – made me understand that older films can be great too.
The Act of Seeing With One’s Own Eyes (Brakhage) – i got a complete understanding of how fragile we as human beings are from this. Haunting…..
