I regularly decry the state of filmgoing, the increasing role of marketeers in the greenlighting process and the readiness of today’s brightest filmmakers to sell out to the studios. As a rule I hate trends, vampires, superheros, and other cash cows almost as much as the zombie audiences that clamber out to support the latest fad.
