When you watch a movie more often than not you are more likely to see extreme violence than extreme sex. I think more graphic sexual content makes people nervous because we are not exposed to it everyday (exceptions exist of course).
The five-disc Blade Runner set is fantastic.
Aside from the pape case I really like the three-disc Seven Samurai set. The interview with Nagisa Oshima and Akira Kurosawa is wonderful.
It’s a fantastic set. I devoured the extras but still have not gone listened to the two commentaries included. The transfer on this version is also superb. This version is well worth double-dipping. It’s just that good.
I would love to go through In the Realm of the Senses but I don’t know if I could sit through it. I think I need a lead-in to get to now Oshima better. Is Empire of Passion a good place to start?
I would love to go through the older Looney Tunes again. I am correct in assuming this set contains those few cartoons that are considered taboo now and are available uncensored?
I seem to remember reading that Whoopi Goldberg did the introduction. I believe she goes on to say that albeit racist they are an important part of history. If you want too see a REALLY racist cartoon check out “Scrub Me Mama with a Boogie Beat”. It’s in the public domain so a Youtube should have it up (last time I checked).
I have always seen the ending as greed usurping religion. By the end even the holiest of men (If one might call Eli a holy man) come begging for money. Has anyone read the source novel Oil?
I ate an alligator (fried breaded bits) at a Cajun restaraunt a few weeks ago. It tastes like a more "stringy chicken. I am sure it tastes better than lemurs.
It’s a scientific fact that sloths move down from their trees once a week to relieve themselves. How’s that for cute? A weeks worth of waste? No thanks.
Onibaba. 5/5. It’s hard to believe that a film like this was made in 1964. Apparently the British banned it from 1965-1968 and then released it with an “X” rating with cuts.
Lets not forget the alternate international ending to Vertigo. If the director put it in the final cut it’s the ending we should accept as an audience. I have yet to see the original version of the Exorcist because the most prominent version on DVD is “The Version You’ve Never Seen”. The original is supposed to be much better.
Nate- I don’t have one a Blu-Ray player either but it bothers me that they continue to make the cases smaller but continue to make DVD cases regular sizes. The size difference must be based on intelligence as companies may have thought that people would simply see a title in a store and pick it up perhaps not realizing that it is Blu-Ray and then get made when it doesn’t work. Maybe when they are in more homes the size of the cases will increase but then again the above is simply a hypothesis.
From what I have heard Anthony Hopkins is going to be in it. This of course doesn’t mean anything I just think its an interesting choice for a man like Hopkins.

I would personally like to see: Aguirre, Wrath of God and Night of the Hunter
The DVD releases available here are bare bone and I don’t feel particularly inclined to buy them.

To be honest (this is a very generic comment) people vary in what they find erotic. What makes people go nuts varies from person to person.

I would love to see this movie again especially on the big screen. I do however, doubt that I would ever be able to see it.

Gah! I envy all of you. The Barnes and Noble in my city does not sell DVD’s. If we do get a DVD it’s along the lines of “Twilight”.

I don’t know if the restoration is currently happening however. Roger Ebert speaks of one in his “Great Movies” review of Chimes at Midnight.
