An adventure was probably only promised to bring in an audience. This really isn't a movie that everyone is going to want to see, so the trailers had to make it look like a movie everyone wants to see.
Will need a second viewing. This first one didn't convince me. I'm sure there is a lot of meaning I didn't grasp because I wasn't abe to get caught in the movie's atmosphere and symbolism. (Or maybe I'll go & read the book, after all!)
I do like Amy Adams and Matthew Goode. But they deserve better than this. The movie is full of clichés, without surprise at all and its humour, well... The locations are great though. But of course, it's Ireland!
In fact, the whole movie is based on a script error: how could the girl's bodyguard carry a gun into this high security prison and how could the first prisoner possibly escape? Aren't the interviews with the inmates watched? Tss... Well, it was not bad. Thanks to Guy Pearce. But it was not quite good either.
I wasn't bored but wasn't thrilled either. I love Michelle Williams but here I found her quite absent when she was supposed to be possessed by Marilyn Monroe...
Oh I want Vincent Gallo to eat my soul, too!
Silly American teens partying. End of story... sort of. Did I enjoy it? Yup! But also, now I like my relaxed nights at home even more!
Je dois avouer que je m'attendais uniquement à de la comédie, alors les passages dramatiques m'ont fait froid dans le dos ! Mais globalement, un (des) film(s) très plaisant(s) !
I would've liked more links between the different scenes. Once again this month, I feel very frustrated after watching a movie! This has to stop :) And it's a shame that finally, I enjoyed Sucker Punch more! :D
Hmmm there was something missing. But I don't know what. There was a nice feeling to that movie, and I liked all of the actors' performances, but I wasn't concerned by the chararcter's future, nor touched by their feelings.
Awful. Do disgusting stuff, panties and boobs make a good movie? Probably, but they alone don't make a good scenario. Every damn thing in this movie is a pretext. Throwing a baby? An alien raping a cat? How funny, really. Only the two brothers deserved to be saved, the other characters being so stupid and useless. The story has no begining and no end! Oh, right, there's a sequel to it. Urgh.
Quelques longueurs mais de bons moments d'anthologie tout de même !!!
Un anti-Amélie Poulain. Terrible et étrangement jouissif.
I was pleasantly surprised to be pleasantly surprised! You never get bored when watching this movie. The technological inventions of the IMF are amazing, Simon Pegg is hilarious as usual and the female characters are the men's equals for once. I'm not sure about Tom Cruise but hey, whatever. I had a good time!
3D was nice. Méliès too. The scenery was beautiful. But where was the promised ADVENTURE?
An adventure was probably only promised to bring in an audience. This really isn't a movie that everyone is going to want to see, so the trailers had to make it look like a movie everyone wants to see.
Main character is a bit annoying but the other ones are quite good. The German guy, the typewriter man, and of course Salma Hayek is gorgeous. Great tunes at the Americano club, too!
I didn't think the pieces of the puzzle were brought with enough impact to the viewer... The directors missed some crucial emotional points, in my opinion.
It worked for me! Didn't want to ski before, don't want to ski after!
Blah! So bad.
I'm so disappointed ;_; ! I expected so much more than "Cloverfield vs E.T."... The kids are great though, they kind of save the day here. I'll think twice next time a movie commercial tries to act mysterious...
La Cité de la Peur ??? ^^
SHE should have played Lisbeth Salander in FIncher's movie!
Pffff... I thought that the rhythm was awful, that the character's awkwardness did not work a bit and that the story worked even less! I didn't find it even remotely funny and I had to force myself watching it till the end.
Some beautiful images but hey it's hard to make a 1930s' circus look bad...
Story before Robin Hood? I have a scoop: it doesn't make a good movie.
It's sad to say that even Jack Sparrow can't save this movie. No rhythm, no humour, lots of uninteresting characters... WTF? Gore Verbinski, come back. Or Johnny Depp, stop it!
I can't be objective about this movie. I just CAN'T. There's Ricci and McAvoy and perfect clothes and home decor! It's a fairy tale, so maybe it's a bit cheesy but I can watch it over and over without getting sick of it. Period.
Now THIS is art. This light, this perfect raming. Those close-ups, slow-motions. Those flashbacks. Those actors! And of course the oh-so-moving story that e are told. THIS is cinema.
