One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Nashville
McCabe & Mrs. Miller
The Last Detail
Taxi Driver
Slaughterhouse Five
Barry Lyndon
A Woman Under The Influence
The Godfather
The Conversation
The Long Goodbye
Didn’t even realize how much I like Robert Alltman until making this list.
There’s those quality movies befitting the classic western format like Open Range, 3:10 To Yuma, and Appaloosa.
Then there’s the more art house infused ones like Dead Man, The Proposition, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, which I usually prefer.
Just saw this film for the first time and was pretty repulsed by Lucas’ supposed “remastering.” Why can’t you let a film live in its own time?
I’d really like to see the original cut.

Why Do You Like the Coen Bros.? over 1 year ago
I like them because, like in True Grit, they mine comedy out of bleakness.
