2012

I'd like to sincerely and heartily congratulate Roland Emmerich on his remarkable achievement, 2012. Despite the blockbuster holes that you could sail an ark through I found it perversely beautiful, surprisingly moving and had something akin to a cinematic spiritual experience because it's intentions were so entirely honourable. If you care about the planet, human beings and have a heart go see it.

Any specific recordings that you would recommend? I know that there were some really good musicians in Henderson's band. At one point I tried to listen to hist stuff, but I couldn't find any recordings.

I like all kinds of jazz. I haven't listened to a lot of the pre-40s styles, but l've enjoyed Jelly Roll's music. I really like the contrapuntal elements of New Orleans jazz styles. I also like small group swing recordings. (I like the big band stuff, too, but I've been more in the mood for smaller groups.) If you have any recommendations, for styles prior to th 1940s, I'd be interested in hearing them.
