Top 5 Hitchcock over 2 years ago

1930-1940 British Classics (Vintage Hitch)

1) 39 Steps
2) Lady Vanishes

1940-1950 (Perfecting the art: still have to see Rebecca):

1) Shadow of A Doubt
2) Notorious
3) Lifeboat
4) Rope (eh)
5) Suspicion (did not like)

1950-1960 The Master of Suspense (the prob here is all these movies were so sick, #6 and #7 can easily be #2 and #3 in another decade. Their low ranking does not mean it was a bad movie by any means).

1) Psycho
2) Rear Window
3) Strangers on a Train
4) Dial M For Murder
5) Vertigo
6) North by Northwest
7) To Catch a Thief
8) The Man Who knew Too Much

1960-1975

1) Frenzy
2) Birds

  • did not see marnie, torn curtain, topaz, and family plot

About time! over 2 years ago

I just watched this movie and I was blown away! The ending had really good symbolism- it provided a metaphor for his way of life. From watching the first half I thought the movie may be contrived because I was able to guess certain things that would happen- however it took a different turn, the story went a different way then I had initially expected, a more tragic one and that made the emotional experience of the movie even stronger for me.
