Everyone that watched LLITU would watch Nymph also… and Ploy.
More than the others movies from this director, these three are the best of. I mean, the work of Doyle in LLITU is awesome, but Ratanaruang itself is a really great director…

I guess, D., that when she throws off the money, there’s nothing about superstition. In my opinion, it’s just related to Lady Di and the destruction of her cup. I loved the end just because of that. She throw off the money not because of any superstition and moral questions, just one superficial and (pointless?) moment made she get rid of it.

Anyway, I should say that I really recommend all of pen-ek’s movies, unless monrak transistor. I’m still needing to watch fun bar karaoke, though….
I know that everybody here love to rate their most beloved and hated films. Although, sometimes it’s quite monotonous to use a lot of 2 or 3 stars (in my personal case). Therefore, I guess that Mubi.com could give us the option to rate the movies with 2.5 or 3.5 stars per example. What do you think?
I agree that there is no need to excessive fractionated ratings, but something like .5 star would be good because I, per example, make a lot of 3 ratings, so it’s boring to anyone look at my ratings! ^^
a .5 scale wouldn’t disrupt the networking, discovering e discussing features. It would just add another point to us to discuss about if we want to. More than that, if we had this option, it wouldn’t hurt people who just want to use a full-star scale where as would be a good improvement for who that want a partial-star rating. It’s a win-win deal, for me.
I’ll be concise: when last year’s cinematography Oscar went to Avatar instead of White Ribbon, I lost all my faith in this award.
However, to be honest, except by The Fighter and 127 Hours there’s no shit movies nominated to Best Picture. Personally, I think that True Grit and Black Swan are the best ones even knowing that none of them will win.
It seems that in 2009, when all the world made awesome movies (Nymph, A Prophet, White Ribbon, Mother…), the USA was not so good while in 2010, when there was a lot of disappointments in the overall movies, USA made good (although not exceptional) ones.

Hey guys,
