It might have a 4 star just because I've seen it so many damn times.
You people that hate this movie have no heart. I get choked up just thinking about it. Fuck it, I'm going to write my next script based on the these themes.
I agree with Phil Worfel. Not great but it ends on a nice note to close out Doinel's life story.
The first half was hard as hell to watch but it really gets better after the 1 hour mark, though I did check my watch the last 15 minutes. Its just very long but gratifying in the end.
unlikeable people but its hard not to pay attention to them.
Back when actors showed their talents off in Hollywood. Makes me want to learn to play piano and tap-dance.
Had me in tears. Dammit.
One of my guilty pleasures. Funny that some people call this a western. I can see why, but to me its an action thriller dramedy.
The only movie I think Michael Bay made that is worth watching.
Goofy low-budget comedy, no big frills except for dropping a Beetle off a cliff at one point.
I admit it readily: I liked it. Some great performances by actors I didn't believe had it in them. Sean William Scott is amazing and it was great to see John Larroquette and Jon Lovitz. The representation of Los Angeles as a corrupt town full of porn and everything fake while the impending doom going on was truthful.
Love the score.
Sci-fi w/o lasers and the world blowing up. I like the idea.
If Linklater, Reeves, Downey Jr. etc. took a dose of LSD and made a paranoia movie.
originally made fun of the huge amounts of people addicted to it, I became one of the people I made fun of. I even bought the 10 disc DVD set minus the Neo bust. Great philosophy.
Who didn't love this in the 90's?
I enjoyed this adaption. The only person that seemed out of place was Michael Keaton, but I believe this was done on purpose.
After reading Neuromancer, I believed this would be the ultimate for me, but it was more dramatic than action, which was a bit of a let down.
I wanted to relate but could not. I think it was the overacting. But the sci-fi views were fantastic
I did not enjoy this though it has some of my favorite actors and directed by a visually well done director.
Just weird, but in a brilliant kind of way.
Good movie about screenwriting, McKee is great here.
Enjoyable, sexual, exciting, but boring and ugly at the same time.
Bill Murray is a genius, the writing is hilarious.
Interesting to watch but didn't give me a cinematic experience of surrealism I was looking for.
I could not like ND. It didn't seem thought out. Just randomness thrown together on a first draft with MTV money behind it. It does have funny moments but otherwise is a giant music video under a somewhat cohesive plot.
More comedy movies need to be taken seriously as works of art.
One of the most prolific directors of our times and everything is shot in New York City. He knows what he likes and he goes for it.
What was Sam Raimi thinking? Took a giant turd on himself with this one.
Knowledgeable, gifted, rude, uncompromising, unnoticed by most.
