Bicycle Thieves...Umberto has a somewhat upbeat ending.
Which film do you think is more sad this or Umberto D?
This movie needs to get a proper DVD, release. Loren and Mastroianni are as glamorous as ever. Very underrated.
Caine is a boss.
Not very good, but I also had the "privilege" of watching it on VHS, one day I hope they get it on DVD.
The only DVD I can find of this is expensive and not remastered so it looks like shit. Anyone know if they are going to re-release it?
Not my favorite director, but he is my favorite artist. Godard loves to challenge boundaries and his audience. Ce n'est pas mon réalisateur préféré, mais il est mon artiste préféré. Godard aime à contester les frontières et son public .
I have only watched his samurai films, I want to venture into his other work. What should I watch next Drunken Angel, I Live in Fear, Stray Dog, High and Low, or something else? Thanks.
I am the motherfucking shore patrol MOTHERFUCKER!
Watched this again, last night. Such a classic great film. They don't make movies like this anymore. I know this is cliche to say but it is true. Everyone should see this film. Caine and Connery alone are brilliant and Huston is a master and this is one of his best.
JB agree, not sure why people trash that movie. Coburn performance is great. One of the best films on friendship/ platonic love.
This guy never gets the love he should, he is miles better than Truffaut.
Susan, I sort of have one it only has 2 songs, it is a 45 and my uncle who has lived in Paris for some 40 years sent it to me.
Heard a lot about this guy and very curious about his work? Can you give your top 3-5 films and maybe where I should I start with this filmography. Thanks everyone.
